Merge onto NY-109 E.- Take route 109, Which turns into Little East Neck Road (once you pass over Montauk Hwy.) Once you pass the second stop sign, The LIYC will be the 3rd Driveway on Left.
An approximate Latitude & Longitude for the south dock of the LIYC is Latitude 40 degrees, 40.95 minutes North, Longitude 073 degrees, 19.80 minutes West.
If using Fire Island Inlet, see NOAA chart # 12300, then #12326 for the entrance to Fire Island Inlet.
After transiting Fire Island Inlet beware of shoals to the north. Pass under Robert Moses Causeway bridge (single span) which makes a good radar target at a range of more than 12 miles.
Once east of the Robert Moses Causeway bridge there are numerous shoals of 1 foot or less to the north, and the preferred channel to the Long Island Yacht Club would be east from the bridge following the markers past the Fire Island lighthouse, and turning generally northeast where a turning buoy, Green & Red "EW" Flashing (2+1) marks the conjunction of the West Channel and the East Channel. Take the West channel from the turning buoy.
Follow the West Channel north to the last marker for it leaving it to port, head West and make for the center span of what is locally called the Captree Bridge (double span). On the chart it may be marked as Robert Moses Causeway bridge.
Once you pass the Captree Bridge, continue generally west to a pair of small markers that are not lit, Red Nun "4" and Green Can "5". Turn north after the Red Nun "4" and make for the entrance to Carll River. As you approach the river entrance you will see the LIYC boat basin to port. If approaching at night, the clubhouse has horizontally aligned green-red-green lights on top of the building.
Transient slips with electricity are available on the outside dock; inside slips may be assigned by the dockmaster as the situation permits.
